Sunday lunch
Have you experienced our recently refurbished lounge bar yet? If not, our booked Sunday Lunch provides the perfect opportunity.

We will take bookings for roast Sunday lunch with a choice of at least two meats/poultry, this is "table service" not a "carvery". Our inflation-beating £20 "Chicken Sunday Lunch" is even better value as a special deal for families or groups - book a table and order by Saturday night, for a whole roast chicken with all the trimmings - including roasties, Yorkshire puddings, veg and gravy. You carve at your table and are welcome to take home any leftovers. Our usual extensive menu is also available on Sundays, lunchtime and evening

Our fortnightly, popular "Guest Chef" Sunday lunches will start again later in the autumn, book by Saturday evening for Sunday lunchtime two course set menu for £8.

Music & Ale Festival over the August Bank Holiday
Blackawton enjoyed better weather this year for this charity fund raiser, all agreed the music was great, five bands differing in style all played and sang for us, offering their entertainment for free, donations collected for cancer charities totalled about £600. Since we have had two local people, one member of staff at The George Inn and one little girl living two doors away, receiving treatment for Leukeamia during the past year, this sum is to go to the charities that have been most active in their particular cases.



Great British Pub week - 30th October to 7th November 2010
To celebrate this fine British institution there will be a programme of events across the country - The George Inn will definitely be celebrating every day throughout the week, with different events - we are pleased to be still here, with a great team (too few of us at busy times but we cope!), proud to have achieved recognition from "Visit England" for the quality of our accommodation, food & drinks offering, hospitality and service, keen to build on our reputation for choice and value - so "watch this space"!
